At Home in Madison: Coordinate
with "At Home In Madison," a unique partnership of business, community, school
and city leaders who have come together to get timely information to home buyers and
relocating families about Madison’s award-winning schools.

Business & Education Partnership: Coordinate the Partnership
programs which work to connect Madison area business, labor, education and government
sectors with students and educators of the MMSD and Edgewood High School about business,
economics and careers.

Communications: Communicate to MMSD staff and the public regarding
public initiatives, news and other developments about Madison schools. This includes
publication of Staff News, Weekly Digest, E-MMSD (electronic newsletter providing
information about Madison schools/staff) and other district information (see below for
specific contacts). Consult with staff and provide assistance so that they can more
effectively communicate about their departments and divisions.

General Information: Serve as a first contact to the community,
parents and other staff regarding general and specific information about Madison Schools.

Graphic Design and Layout: Provide consultation to departments in
developing and generating logos, brochures, templates and other camera-ready public
information for printing.

Internet Communication: Create, edit and maintain the MMSD Web site
and various departmental Web sites, both on the World Wide Web and on the District’s
intranet. Teach and support staff members regarding the creation of their own external and internal Web sites.

Legislative Liaison: Provide information about issues of concern to
Madison schools to state legislators, Wisconsin’s federal delegation and various
state agencies, particularly the Department of Public Instruction. Publishes the Legislative
News Update to inform staff and community regarding legislative issues.

News Media Relations: Work with news reporters on their coverage of
the MMSD. Provide guidance to MMSD staff, especially principals, in dealing with
reporters.
