School Start and Dismissal Times

In effect September 1, 2010 — June 10, 2011

All Madison Metropolitan School District schools will reopen on Wednesday, September 1 for the 2010-11 school year and school lunches will begin on that date.

The regular starting and dismissal times for each school are listed below.

Parents should note:

  • Elementary schools are dismissed early each Monday
  • Middle and high schools are released one hour early on each Wednesday during a  full week of school (La Follette's dates will vary)

Elementary Schools

Note: All elementary schools will follow Monday's dismissal schedule on September 1 and 2.

The following schools start at 7:45 a.m. and dismiss students at 2:32 p.m. Tuesday — Friday. Every Monday these schools start at 7:45 a.m. and dismiss students at 1:00 p.m.

* Early Release Wednesdays - Beginning in the 2010-11 school year, middle and high school students will be released early on most Wednesdays for teacher collaboration planning time. Madison School Community Recreation will offer free programs at the schools for middle school students on the early release dates. Early release dates for middle/high school students are below.
